USD #225 Board of Education Meeting
April 11, 2022, 7:00 P.M.
Call to order: T.J. Milford, Board President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Copenhaver led a prayer.
Members present: TJ Milford, Cathy Heinz, Fred Boyd, Kim Copenhaver, Dana Bartezko & Jeff Zortman were present. Others present were Cherie Nicholson, Superintendent, Erica Littlewood, Board Clerk, and Corri McDowell, Principal.
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Jessica Renfro, Cord Moss, Spring Sellars, Debbie Wise, Catalina Zortman, Abby Zortman, Isabella Valdez Chapa, Milena Zeduri, Jennifer Faurot, Elissa Smith, Makenna Smith, Brittany Huckaby, Elijah Zortman, and Kim McLachlan
Approve Consent Agenda: Zortman moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion carried 6-0.

DISCUSSION
Summer Student Help – Copenhaver moved, seconded by Heinz to approve the hiring of 2 to 3 students for summer help. Motion carried 6-0.
Cooperation Agreement Between USD 225 & 226 – Zortman moved, seconded by Milford to accept the contracted service agreement between USD 226 and USD 225. Motion carried 6-0.
Four- vs. Five-Day School Week – Item tabled until the May board meeting. No motion made.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Milford moved, seconded by Heinz to go into executive session for 15 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel under KOMA, board, McDowell, and Nicholson. This session is required to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion carried 6-0. 7:38 p.m.

Milford moved, seconded by Bartezko to go back into executive session for 10 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 8:21 p.m.
PERSONNEL
Resignation – Milford moved, seconded by Copenhaver to accept the resignation of Brittany Huckaby effective June 30, 2022. Motion carried 6-0.
Administrative Contract – Bartezko moved, seconded by Heinz to extend a one-year administrative contract for the 2022-23 school year with more contractual details at the May meeting. Motion carried 6-0.
Adjournment – Boyd moved, seconded by Copenhaver to adjourn meeting. Motion carried 6-0 8:24 p.m.
