USD #225 Board of Education Meeting
April 8th, 2019, 7 p.m.
Call to order: Barb Whitney, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Whitney led in prayer.
Members present: Barb Whitney, Fred Boyd, Ed Rarden, Jamie Boese, and Tom Huelskamp were present. Others present were Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent, Corri McDowell, Principal, Erica Rarden, Board Clerk, and Valerie Crone, Deputy Board Clerk. Richie Dewell was not present.
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Sign-in sheet available.
Approve Consent Agenda: Boyd moved, seconded by Rarden to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion carried 5-0.
REPORTS Economic Development, Jamie Boese, representative – Report given
Special Education, Jamie Boese, representative – Report given
Superintendent, Mr. Bollinger gave his report.
Principal: Mrs. McDowell gave her report.
Patron Appearances: Decina Heinz presented to the board
Cathy Heinz presented to the board
Vacant board position: Board interviewed Jennifer Bartlett for the vacant board seat.
Boyd moved, seconded by Huelskamp to approve Jennifer Bartlett as the new board member (to be sworn in during the May meeting). Motion carried 5-0.
KASB – Rarden moved, seconded by Hulskamp to adopt the the KASB Adoption Agreement and Legal Assistance Fund Contract. Motion carried 5-0.
Personnel Meetings – Boyd moved, seconded by Huelskamp to make arrangements for all certified staff to meet, 2 at a time, in executive session during May’s board meeting. Motion carried 4-1 (Whitney)
Lawn Mower – A discussion was held. Board requested maintenance team obtain additional information on mowers and present at next meeting. Item tabled.
Personnel: Boese moved, seconded by Rarden to approve Valerie Crone for HS Cheer Coach. Motion carried 5-0.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Boyd, seconded by Huelskamp to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. Time: 8:16 p.m.
