USD #225 Board of Education Meeting
August 13th, 2018, 7 p.m.
Call to order: Barb Whitney, President, called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Whitney led in prayer.
Members present: Barb Whitney, Dave Snook, Richie Dewell, Jamie Boese, Fred Boyd, Seth Hageman and Tom Huelskamp were present. Others present were Corri McDowell, Principal, Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent, Erica Rarden, Board Clerk.
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Donna Norman, Debbie Wise, Rebecca Heinz, Emily Dizmang, Kim McLachlan.
Approve Consent Agenda: Boese moved, seconded by Hageman to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion carried 7-0.
REPORTS Principal: Mrs. McDowell gave her report.
Economic Development, Jamie Boese, representative, gave her report.
Special Education, Jamie Boese, representative, gave her report
Superintendent, Mr. Bollinger gave his report.
Safe Defend Presentation: Discussion held; presentation in September.
Public Comments – Boyd Orr: A motion was made by Hageman, seconded by Huelskamp to approve Boyd Orr’s request to add a Roe May memorial plaque, privately funded, to the Wellness Center. Motion carried 7-0.
Executive Session: Snook moved and seconded by Huelskamp to go into executive session for 15 minutes and include the Superintendent and Principal to discuss matters of property provision. Motion carried 7-0. 7:50 p.m.
Boese moved, seconded by Huelskamp to go into executive session for 5 minutes, including the Superintendent and Principal. Motion carried 7-0. 8:07 p.m.
Board Resignation - A motion was made by Boyd, seconded by Snook to accept the resignation of Seth Hageman effective August 13, 2018. Motion carried 6-0.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Boyd, seconded by Huelskamp to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 6-0. Time: 8:16 p.m.
