USD #225 Board of Education Meeting
November 12, 2019, 7:30 P.M.
Call to order: Barb Whitney, President, called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Whitney led in prayer.
Members present: Barb Whitney, Fred Boyd, Ed Rarden, Tom Huelskamp, and Jamie Boese were present. Others present were Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent, Corri McDowell, Principal, and Erica Rarden, Board Clerk. Richie Dewell was not present.
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Kim McLachlan, Cathy Heinz, Emily Dizmang, Debbie Wise, Will Padgett, Kim Copenhaver, Taylor Bollinger, Tammy Bollinger, Dave Weber, Charlie Littlewood, Oscar Teran, T.J. Milford, and Tim Milford.
Approve Consent Agenda: Boyd moved, seconded by Rarden to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion carried 5-0.
REPORTS Principal: Mrs. McDowell gave her report.
Economic Development, Jamie Boese, representative, gave her report.
Special Education, Jamie Boese, representative, no report given
Superintendent, Mr. Bollinger, gave his report.
Discussion:
District Employee Christmas Bonus: Huelskamp moved, seconded by Rarden to provide USD 225 district employees a $200 Christmas bonus. Non-district employees (i.e. SPED paraprofessionals) will not receive a USD 225 bonus if their district provides a bonus this year. Motion carried 5-0.
Executive Session: Huelskamp moved, seconded by Boyd to go into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss personnel matters of nonelected personnel. This session is required to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion carried 5-0. 8:13 p.m.
Boese moved, seconded by Boyd to go into executive session for 5 minutes. Motion carried 5-0. 8:44 p.m.
Recess 8:51 pm – 9:00p.m.
Boyd moved, seconded by Huelskamp to go into executive session for 10 minutes. Motion carried 5-0. 9:00 p.m.
Boese moved, seconded by Huelskamp to go into executive session for 5 minutes. Motion carried 5-0. 9:11 p.m.
Personnel:
Resignation: Boyd moved, seconded by Boese to accept the resignation of Jeff Bollinger effective June 30, 2020 with agreed upon settlement (settlement undisclosed). Motion carried 5-0.
New Hire: Boese moved, seconded by Boyd to hire Bruce Millershaski as an emergency substitute teacher. Motion carried 5-0.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Huelskamp, seconded by Boyd to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. Time: 9:18 p.m.
