Regular Board Of Education Meeting
High School Library, Monday December 5, 2016 7 p.m.
Call to order: Tim Milford, President, called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Milford led in prayer.
Members present: Mark Bergkamp, Steve Lundeen, Tim Milford, Jamie Boese and Barb Whitney were present. Others present were Corrie McDowell, Principal, Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent, Paula Kay Watson, Board Clerk.
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Tammy Bollinger, Kat Market and Dave Snook
Approve Amended Consent Agenda: Lundeen moved, seconded by Bergkamp to amend the agenda to include new business. Motion carried 6-0.
Approve Consent Agenda: Whitney moved, seconded by Dewell to approve the minutes and accounts payable as presented. Motion carried 6-0.
Reports:
Principal: Mrs. McDowell gave her report
Economic Development, Jamie Boese, representative, gave her report
Special Education, Tim Milford, representative, gave his report
A+ Network, Steve Lundeen, representative, gave his report
Superintendent: Mr. Bollinger gave his report
Whitney reported on the Kansas State School Board Convention she attended in Wichita.
Action
Teacher Negotiations: The consensus of the Board to appoint Lundeen and Whitney serve for Teacher Negotiations. They will meet 30 minutes before the January Board meeting with the Superintendent.
Board Vacancy: Whitney moved to appoint Dave Snook to the Board for the remainder of Courtney Wilson’s term, Bergkamp seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
Personnel: Boese moved to accept the resignation of Kraig Westoff effective the end of the 2016-2017 school year. Whitney seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
Whitney moved to accept the resignation of Lauren Harvey effective the end of the 2016-2017 school year. Boese seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
A motion was made by Bergkamp and seconded by Dewell to appoint Erica Littlewood-Rarden as Deputy Clerk. Motion carried 6-0.
Wednesday/Sunday Policy: Lundeen moved and seconded by Whitney to adopt the Wednesday/Sunday Policy as presented by Bollinger. Motion carried 6-0.
Executive Session: Bergkamp moved and seconded by Whitney to go into executive session for 15 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 8:17 p.m.
Tammy Bollinger left the meeting at 8:17 p.m.
Bergkamp moved and seconded by Whitney to go into executive session for 10 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 8:32 p.m.
Bergkamp moved and seconded by Whitney to go into executive session for 5 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 8:42 p.m.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Lundeen, seconded by Bergkamp to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 6-0. Time: 8:49 p.m.
