USD #225 Board of Education Meeting

September 10th, 2018, 7 p.m.

 

 

Call to order:  Barb Whitney, President, called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.  Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Whitney led in prayer.

Members present:  Barb Whitney, Dave Snook, Richie Dewell, Jamie Boese, Fred Boyd, and Tom Huelskamp were present. Others present were Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent and Erica Rarden, Board Clerk.

Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Emily Dizmang, Kim McLachlan, Rebecca Heinz, Debbie Wise, Donna Norman, Dan Cole with Safe Defend.

Approve Consent Agenda: Snook moved, seconded by Boyd to approve the Consent Agenda.  Motion carried 6-0.       

Safe Defend Presentation: Dan Cole with Safe Defend presented the Safe Defend Personnel Protection System. A motion was made by Snook, seconded by Huelskamp to approve a $30,000 budget for the first year to establish a system, with the intention of growing the system in future years. Motion carried 6-0.

Mrs. McDowell joined the meeting at 7:51 p.m.

 

REPORTS        Principal:  Mrs. McDowell gave her report.

                        Economic Development, Jamie Boese, representative, gave her report.

                        Special Education, Jamie Boese, representative, gave her report

                        Superintendent, Mr. Bollinger gave his report.

Personnel: Snook moved and seconded by Boyd to approve the hiring of Kendra Dowell for the position of part time PM preschool paraprofessional, and Bryan Branstine for the position of full time maintenance assistant. Motion carried 6-0. 

Executive Session: Huelskamp moved and seconded by Boese to go into executive session for 15 minutes and include the Superintendent and Principal to discuss personnel matters of nonelected personnel. The session is required to protect the privacy interest of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion carried 6-0.  8:26 p.m.

Snook moved, seconded by Huelskamp to go into executive session for 10 minutes, including the Superintendent and Principal. Motion carried 6-0.  8:43 p.m.

Adjournment:  A motion was made by Snook, seconded by Boyd to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried 6-0.  Time: 8:55 p.m.
