USD #225 Board of Education Meeting
September 13, 2021, 7:00 P.M.
Call to order: T.J. Milford, Board President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Milford led a prayer.
Members present: Kim Copenhaver, Fred Boyd, Ed Rarden, Jared Weber, Tom Huelskamp, Cathy Heinz, and T.J. Milford were present. Others present were Cherie Nicholson, Superintendent, and Erica Littlewood, Board Clerk.
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Jenny Faurot, Trivett Varnell, Kim McLachlan, Jessica Ackerman, Charlie Littlewood, and Damian Teran.
Approve Consent Agenda: Weber moved, seconded by Boyd to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion carried 7-0.
September Minutes: Boyd moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve the September minutes as presented. Motion carried 7-0.

DISCUSSION
STEM Lab Split Unit – Milford moved, seconded by Huelskamp to accept the bid provided by Foster Frigeration in the amount of $11,000 to install a new split unit in the upstairs of the high school (currently being used as the GS STEM Lab). Motion carried 7-0.
ESSER III Community Survey Draft – Discussion only. No motion made.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Milford moved, seconded by Huelskamp to go into executive session for 5 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel under KOMA, board and superintendent. This session is required to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion carried 7-0. 7:48 p.m.
PERSONNEL
Basketball Coach – The board granted Mrs. Nicholson permission to advertise for boys and girls high school basketball coach. Discussion only. No motion made.
Adjournment – Milford moved, seconded by Copenhaver to adjourn meeting. Motion carried 7-0 8:08 p.m.
