November 13, 2023, Board of Education Meeting Minutes

Members Present: TJ Milford, Dana Bartzko, Fred Boyd, Jessica Ackerman, and Jeff Zortman.

Also present were Jamie Wetig, Superintendent (via Zoom) and Corri McDowell, Principal

 

Opening Prayer – Milord recited prayer.

  1. Call to Order – Milford called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Milford moved, seconded by Ackerman to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 5-0.

Zortman moved, seconded by Bartezko to appoint McDowell as clerk for this meeting. Motion carried 5-0.

Zortman moved, seconded Boyd to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried 5-0.

Boyd moved, seconded by Ackerman. Motion carried 5-0.

 

  1. EXECUTIVE SESSION (Personnel Matters)

Motion: Mr. President, I move we go into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel in order to protect the privacy interest of the individual(s) to be discussed, pursuant to non-elected personnel exception under Kansas Open Meetings Act.

Milford moved, seconded by Bartezko to go into executive session with board, Wetig, and McDowell for 20 minutes. Motion carried 5-0. 8:23 p.m.

Milford moved, seconded by Boyd to go back into executive session with board, Wetig, and McDowell for 15 minutes. Motion carried 5-0. 8:43 p.m.

Back into regular session at 9:01 p.m.

Zortman moved, seconded by Milford to waive the rent on the district rental house located on Pine Street for Casey Cooley for 3 months. Motion carried 5-0.

Milford moved, seconded by Boyd, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. 9:02 p.m.
