April 4, 2023 Board of Education Special Meeting Minutes

April 21, 2023

Members Present: TJ Milford, Kim Copenhaver, Fred Boyd, Cathy Heinz, Jeff Zortman, and Dana Bartezko.

Also present were Jamie Wetig, Superintendent and Corri McDowell, Principal.

Guests: Kim McLachlan and Debbie Wise  

Opening Prayer

1. ROUTINE ITEMS

1. Call to Order: Milford called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
2. Pledge of Allegiance
3. Designation of Board Clerk for this meeting: T.J moved, seconded by Boyd to appoint Corri McDowell as clerk for this meeting. Motion carried 6-0.
4. Adoption of Agenda (Action)

Copenhaver moved, seconded by Bartezko to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried 6-0.

2. BOARD COMMUNICATIONS
   1. Discussion District Configuration – Discussion among board members. No action taken.

3. EXECUTIVE SESSION (Personnel Matters)

Motion: Mr. President, I move we go into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel in order to protect the privacy interest of the individual(s) to be discussed, pursuant to non-elected personnel exception under Kansas Open Meetings Act.

Milford moved, seconded by Boyd to go into executive session, board and Wetig, for 15 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 6:11 p.m.

Milford moved, seconded my Copenhaver to go back into executive session for 10 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 6:27 p.m.

Copenhaver moved, seconded by Milford to go back into executive session for 5 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 6:37 p.m.

Zortman moved, seconded by Milford to go back into executive session for 10 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 6:43 p.m.

4. ADJOURNMENT

Copenhaver moved, seconded by Milford to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 6-0. (6:54 p.m.?)
