Regular Board Of Education Meeting

High School Library, Monday, July 10, 2017 7 p.m.

 

 

Call to order:  Barb Whitney, President, called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.  Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Lundeen led in prayer.

 

Members present:  Barb Whitney, Dave Snook, Richie Dewell, Jamie Boese, Steve Lundeen and Mark Bergkamp were present. Others present were Corrie McDowell, Principal, Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent, Paula Kay Watson, Board Clerk.

 

Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Visitors present, Craig Maynard, Fred Boyd, Tiffany Ziebart, Donna Norman, Debbie Wise, Drew Boese and Erica Foster.

 

Approve Consent Agenda: Snook moved, seconded by Lundeen to approve the Consent Agenda.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Reports: 

            Principal:  Mrs. McDowell gave her report

            Economic Development, Jamie Boese, representative, the next meeting was tomorrow.

            Special Education, No report

            A+ Network (SKI-CAN), Steve Lundeen, representative, gave his last report

            Superintendent: Mr. Bollinger gave his report

 

7:45 Drew Boese left the meeting.

           

DISCUSSION

 

Board Vacancy:  Discussion was held on appointing Fred Boyd to finish out the remaining term of the open Board Vacancy.  

 

ACTION

 

Football: Lundeen moved to go to 6-man football for the 17-18 season. Bergkamp seconded. Motion carried 6-0.

 

7:56 Craig Maynard left the meeting.

 

Board Vacancy: Snook moved to appoint Fred Boyd to finish out the remaining term of the Board Vacancy. Bergkamp seconded. Motion carried 6-0.

 

Fred Boyd joined the Board.

 

Negotiated Agreement:  Snook moved and Lundeen seconded to ratify the Negotiated Agreement. Motion carried 6-0.

 

Extraordinary Needs: A motion was made by Snook to accept any funds we receive. Boese seconded. Motion carried 6-0.

 

Contingency Reserve Purchase: Dewell moved to purchase of the bus from Contingency Reserve. Bergkamp seconded. Motion carried 6-0.

 

Lunch Prices: Lundeen moved to increase the Lunch Prices by 10 cents. Boyd seconded. Motion carried 6-0.

 

Handbooks: Dewell moved and Snook seconded to approve the handbooks as presented. Motion carried 6-0.

 

8:35 p.m. A 5 minute break was held

 

Tiffany Ziebart left at 8:35 p.m.

 

Bergkamp moved and seconded by Snook to go into executive session for 45 minutes. Motion carried 6-0.  8:40 p.m.

Bergkamp moved and seconded by Snook to go into executive session for 5 minutes. Motion carried 6-0.  9:25 p.m.

Bergkamp moved and seconded by Snook to go into executive session for 5 minutes. Motion carried 6-0.  9:30 p.m.

 

PERSONEL

 

Approvals/Acceptances: Boese moved to approve Joel Thomas as the new music teacher. Dewell seconded. Motion carried 6-0.

 

Lundeen moved and Dewell seconded to approve supplemental contracts as presented. Motion carried 6-0.

 

Adjournment:  A motion was made by Snook, seconded by Bergkamp to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried 6-0.  Time: 9:37 p.m.
