Monday, April 13, 2015         7:00 p.m.

 

 

 

Call to order:  Mark Bergkamp, president, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.

 

Members present:   Mark, Bergkamp, Richie Dewell, Erica Littlewood, Steve Lundeen, Tim Milford, and Marjean Strong were present.  Duke Marrs was absent.  Others present were Tom Dolenz, Superintendent/Principal; Mark Cook, Jr/Sr High School Principal; and Brenda Wenta, Clerk.

 

Recognition of Visitors/Communication

 

Stuart Sutton, Kim Copenhaver, Donna Norman, Debra Wise, Leann Krier, Tia Harris, Matt Bell, Mickey Stout, Annette Keith, Courtney Wilson, Barb Whitney, Kelly Clark, Pam Shumard, Donie Shumard

 

Informal hearing:  The clerk check for the parties that requested the informal hearing and no one was present.

 

Approve Agenda: Lundeen moved, seconded by Littlewood to approve the agenda with the addition of resignation under personnel.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Approve Minutes: Strong moved, Milford seconded to approve the regular meeting minutes of March 9, 2015.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Accounts Payable: Lundeen moved, seconded by Milford to approve the accounts payable as presented.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Informal hearing:  A motion was made by Milford, seconded by Littlewood to enter into executive session to discuss personnel matters of nonelected personnel in order to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed and that the board return to open session in the board room at 7:10 p.m. Motion carried 6-0.  Board Members, Mr. Dolenz, Kyle Carland, Alesha Edwards were present.  Time:  7:05

Discussion was held concerning the budget.

 

New business:

 

Low or no numbers in sport programs:  Tabled

 

Bus request:  Lundeen moved, Milford seconded to approve the After-Prom Committee request to use a school bus and possibly a suburban to transport the attendees to the Dodge City YMCA.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Senior Trip:  Strong moved, Littlewood seconded to approve the Senior Trip itinerary.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Executive session:  Littlewood moved, seconded by Lundeen to enter into executive session to discuss personnel matters of nonelected personnel in order to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed and that the board return to open session in the board room at 9:22 p.m. Motion carried 6-0.  Board Members, Mr. Dolenz, Mr. Cook were present.  Time:  9:02 p.m.

 

Executive session:  A motion was made and seconded to enter into executive session to discuss personnel matters of nonelected personnel in order to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed and that the board return to open session in the board room at 9:33 p.m. Motion carried 6-0.  Board Members and Mr. Dolenz were present.  Time:  9:23 p.m.

 

Executive session:  A motion was made and seconded to enter into executive session to discuss personnel matters of nonelected personnel in order to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed and that the board return to open session in the board room at 9:54 p.m. Motion carried 6-0.  Board Members and Mr. Dolenz were present.  Time:  9:34 p.m.

 

Executive Session:  Lundeen moved, Dewell seconded to enter into executive session to discuss negotiations in order to protect the public interest in negotiating a fair and equitable contract and that the board returns to open session in the board room at 10:00 p.m.  Motion carried 6-0.  Board members, Mr. Dolenz, Mr. Cook were present.  Time:  9:55

 

Personnel:

            Littlewood moved, Strong seconded to hire Tamra Boese as cook.  Motion carried 6-0.        

            Lundeen moved, seconded by Littlewood to approve the resignation of Heather Shaw as assistant junior high track coach.  Motion carried 6-0.

            Littlewood moved, Strong seconded to approve the resignation of Pam Milford, 4th grade teacher, effective at the end of the school year.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Adjournment:  A motion was made by Lundeen and seconded by Littlewood to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried 6-0.  Time:  10:04 p.m.
